The Hedges Inn is repairing its front porch once again, after a vehicle smashed into it at high speed for the second time in four months. DOUG KUNTZ
Vehicles have crashed into the Hedges Inn on James Lane in East Hampton Village eight times in the last 10 years, and on a regular basis for decades. The most recent crash, on January 15, left a car carrying four teenagers impaled in the inn's front porch. The inn is asking the village to help it come up with a way to protect the building and its occupants, or passersby from getting hurt the next time it happens. MARCOS BALADRON
