EAST HAMPTON VILLAGE — On New Year’s Day morning, shortly before dawn, Village Police received a report of a pickup truck being driven recklessly eastbound on Main Street. An officer who was dispatched to check out that report spotted a white Ford F-150 being driven on the wrong side of the road, headed toward Montauk, away from the village, police said. SPRINGS — Darwin Ronaldo Kaekat-Naanch, 37, was arrested by East Hampton Town Police around noon on Friday on a charge of assault in the third degree, a misdemeanor. Police said Kaekat-Naanch got into an altercation with another tenant in the house he lives in, and punched the man in the mouth, causing severe bleeding. The man was taken to the hospital, and after investigation, police made the arrest. Kaekat-Naanch was held overnight, and arraigned on Sunday morning virtually in front of East Hampton Town Justice David Filer. EAST HAMPTON VILLAGE — East Hampton Village Police arrested a Springs man, Gary Thomas Benintendi, 29, after, they say, he went on a couture shoplifting spree on Newtown Lane and Main Street around noon on December 10. According to police, Benintendi hit the Louis Vuitton store at the corner of Main Street and Newtown Lane first. EAST HAMPTON VILLAGE — East Hampton Village Police arrested a Shirley man, Antonio Alejandro Cabrera, 38, on a misdemeanor charge of resisting arrest, as well as a violation charge of disorderly conduct, around noon on November 25. Cabrera, police reported, first interacted with them a little after 9 that morning when he was asked to leave the construction supply store on Railroad Avenue because he was being unruly.
