EAST HAMPTON VILLAGE — On New Year’s Day morning, shortly before dawn, Village Police received a report of a pickup truck being driven recklessly eastbound on Main Street. An officer who was dispatched to check out that report spotted a white Ford F-150 being driven on the wrong side of the road, headed toward Montauk, away from the village, police said. SPRINGS — Darwin Ronaldo Kaekat-Naanch, 37, was arrested by East Hampton Town Police around noon on Friday on a charge of assault in the third degree, a misdemeanor. Police said Kaekat-Naanch got into an altercation with another tenant in the house he lives in, and punched the man in the mouth, causing severe bleeding. The man was taken to the hospital, and after investigation, police made the arrest. Kaekat-Naanch was held overnight, and arraigned on Sunday morning virtually in front of East Hampton Town Justice David Filer. EAST HAMPTON VILLAGE — East Hampton Village Police arrested a Springs man, Gary Thomas Benintendi, 29, after, they say, he went on a couture shoplifting spree on Newtown Lane and Main Street around noon on December 10. According to police, Benintendi hit the Louis Vuitton store at the corner of Main Street and Newtown Lane first. SPRINGS — East Hampton Town Police arrested a Shirley man, Ryan Odonnell, 36, the morning of December 3 after an incident the previous evening at a Hartley Boulevard residence. Police said that during a dispute with a woman, Odonnell shoved her onto a bed and choked her, then went through her purse and removed $600 in cash and a jar of prescription Xanax, then left. Odonnell was charged with two misdemeanors, obstruction of breathing and petty larceny, as well as a violation charge of harassment.
