EAST HAMPTON — A Springs man, Andrew M. Crozier, 64, was arrested by East Hampton Town Police on a charge of leaving the scene of an accident where there was a personal injury as a first offense, a misdemeanor, on February 3. Police said that Crozier was headed north a little before 6 a.m. in a 2014 Ford cargo van when he rear-ended a vehicle stopped at a red light at North Main and Cedar streets. WAINSCOTT — A Hampton Bays man, Joseph A. Pita, 53, was charged by East Hampton Town Police with assault in the third-degree, a misdemeanor, last Thursday morning, after an altercation at an industrial worksite in Wainscott. Police said Pita punched a fellow worker in the face, knocking a tooth loose and causing cutting, bleeding and bruising to the victim, leading to the arrest. The incident occurred at 7:22 in the morning, police said. MONTAUK — East Hampton Town Police received a report of petty thievery from a South Elmwood Avenue convenience store last Thursday afternoon. Kennedy Alexander Santiago, 22, an East Hampton resident had walked out of the store with one Dr Pepper soda, two Starbucks Frappuccinos, and one Tollhouse Chipwich ice cream sandwich, police said. Police, provided with surveillance video by store management and an eyewitness description, soon placed Santiago under arrest.
