The Children’s Museum of the East End will host a “Moana” sing-a-long movie night on Monday, February 17, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. The evening will feature crafts, pizza and a special viewing of “Moana” in the indoor gym. The Montauk Library invites all its patrons to participate in the Great Backyard Bird Count, a community science project hosted by the Cornell Lab of Ornithology and the National Audubon Society. Interested birdwatchers will meet at the library at 10 a.m. on Saturday, February 15, and watch the library’s feeders, then proceed around the library grounds. Sound Aircraft Services at East Hampton Airport is hosting a program for young people to learn about becoming a pilot. The “Guide for Aspiring Aviators and Their Families” will take place on Friday, February 7, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the airport, 173 Daniels Hole Road in Wainscott. In recognition of Black History Month, Hallockville Museum Farm will host “Slavery on the North Fork,” a presentation by members of the North Fork Project, which has spent four years researching the history of slavery in local communities.
