Sag Harbor Historical Museum Awarded Grant for Headstone Restoration

The Sag Harbor Historical Museum was awarded a $10,000 grant to restore headstones in Sag Harbor’s Old Burying Ground on Union Street. The grant was from the Robert David Lion Gardiner Foundation, which supports projects that highlight New York history. The group of headstones to be repaired were severely damaged in the Hurricane of 1938 and have remained broken in multiple pieces and partially buried in the ground since that time. Cookie Exchange at LTV Studios

LTV Studios will host a Community Cookie Exchange on Saturday, December 21, from 2 to 4 p.m. Guests may enjoy cookies, music, crafts, and raffles. Proceeds will go toward paying for LTV’s new roof and to the South Fork Performing Arts Education Fund. The East End Classic Boat Society’s raffle boat has been won by an East Setauket woman who wanted to help the group’s efforts teaching school children about boat building. The boat society each year gives classes in boat model building and nomenclature to 200 third- and fourth-graders at Montauk, Springs, Sag Harbor and Amagansett schools. “We love the cause,” said winner Diana Dow.
