Grace M. Sarlo, a former resident of Rockville Centre, died on October 17 at Bellhaven Nursing Center in Brookhaven. She was 95.
Born July 26, 1914, in New York City, she was the daughter of Anthony and Rosina (née Molino) Locasto. She retired as office manager at Parker-Finch Agency in New York City and helped to open the uptown offices of the Graham White Agency in Manhattan in the late 1960s and early 1970s.
She is survived by a son, Christopher Sarlo, retired principal of East Hampton High School, and his wife Patricia of East Hampton; a daughter, Christine Barbato of Bayport; four grandsons and their wives, Kevin, a retired captain of the East Hampton Town Police Department, and Keri Sarlo of East Hampton; Christopher and Yvonne Sarlo of Virginia; Robert and Kristen Sarlo of Virginia; and Michael, an East Hampton Town Police Department captain, and Paula Sarlo of East Hampton; and a granddaughter, Allyson Barbato of Bayport. She is also survived by nine great-grandchildren, Caitlin, Andrew, Liv, Cliff, Taylor, Madison, Daniel, Melina and Alysia.
Mrs. Sarlo was predeceased by two brothers, Charles F. Locasto and Dr. Camillo B. Locasto, and her husband, Lieutenant Emil W. Sarlo, who died while serving in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Visitation was scheduled on Wednesday, October 28, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Yardley & Pino Funeral Home in East Hampton. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, October 29, at 10 a.m. at Most Holy Trinity Church in East Hampton, followed by interment in the family plot at St. John’s Cemetery in Queens.
