A Riverhead man was arrested and charged with a felony account of assault after Riverhead Town Police say he intentionally drove his vehicle into a motorcycle operated by a Sag Harbor man, who is in critical condition at Stony Brook University Hospital as a result. Police said Tyryk Lewis, 28, drove his Jeep into a Honda motorcycle driven by Michael McCann, 60, shortly before 7 p.m. on Friday night. Lewis was traveling east on Old Country Road, between Ostrander Avenue and Oliver Street in Riverhead. A 75-year-old New York woman bit a 7-year-old girl’s arm while trying to retrieve a freebie T-shirt that was being tossed out during a concert at Main Beach in East Hampton Village on August 12, Village Police reported. Gail Bomze was arrested on August 19 at 1:26 p.m. and charged with third-degree assault and endangering the welfare of a child, both misdemeanors. East Hampton Town Police expect traffic delays during the annual Soldier Ride of the Hamptons between Amagansett and Sag Harbor on Saturday, July 19. Soldier Ride starts at 9 a.m., when about 100 cyclists will depart from the American Legion in Amagansett. The riders will go through East Hampton Village to Sag Harbor, before returning to Amagansett. Police have not scheduled any road closures. However, police expect significant delays on Montauk Highway in Amagansett, Stephen Hands Path, Route 114 and roads leading into Sag Harbor. The event is expected to conclude at 12:30 p.m.

After a three-week investigation into a knifepoint robbery at East Hampton’s Long Island Rail Road station the night of June 12, detectives from the MTA Police Department arrested Frankie Daiozczok, 43, of New York City on July 2, charging him with robbery in the first degree. The crime is classified as a violent felony, with sentencing requirements if convicted of anywhere between 5 and 25 years in state prison.
