More Questions

Principal Maria Dorr was found not guilty, 408 days after charges were filed against her, accusing her of taking an Amazon gift card [“Amagansett School Principal Cleared of Charges,” 27east.com, March 20]. Dorr produced a Shell gift card she received. Sixty-two days we all had to wait for a decision, 32 days after a decision should be rendered in a 3020A hearing by statutes and procedures.

Hearing officer Tim Taylor, in his decision, outlined the inconsistencies, the flawed investigation and noncredible witnesses. Yet, after sending out a message Thursday that they were going to “put this matter behind” them, Wayne Gauger, the School Board president and East Hampton Village Police Department sergeant, gave another shot across the bow Friday: that the school disagrees with the decision. Even though they now will need to reinstate Dorr.

Many more questions are emerging. One I have been asking is: Where is the Amagansett School curriculum? No answers for the last two weeks. So much for school requirements.

In Amagansett, it is my opinion, individuals are more concerned with their final payout averages than the Blue Ribbon School that was achieved.

Still here.
