Damage to fuel lines and containment piping feeding the generator oil tank from the main oil tank, in relation to the new aquatic and cultural center under construction at the Montauk Playhouse, was discovered on Friday, January 10. It is believed that subcontractors inadvertently caused the damage, according to a statement from East Hampton Town Hall, with the incident resulting in heating fuel leaking back into the main containment tank and into the ground.
