The East Hampton/Pierson boys swim team went 4-2-1 in League II, 4-3-1 overall, during the regular season, then placed third at the League II Championships this past winter, where a number of the team’s student-athletes earned All-League honors.
Tenzin Tamang was All-League individually in the 200-yard individual medley and 100-yard butterfly and was named the team’s Most Valuable Player.
Aidan McCormac earned All-League honors in the 50- and 100-yard freestyles; Nicky Badilla earned All-League honors in the 100-yard backstroke; and Daniel Piver was All-League in the 500-yard freestyle and given the team’s Coaches Award.
Badilla, Piver, Tamang and McCormac earned All-League honors in the 200-yard medley relay, and Badilla, Piver, Owen Robins and Emmet McCormac earned All-League honors in the 400-yard freestyle relay.
Jack O’Sullivan was given the team’s Most Improved Award.
Baye Bogetti was named All-League for the East Hampton girls basketball team. K.K. Gilbert was named the team’s Unsung Hero. Bogetti was also named the team’s Most Valuable Player, Katie Kuneth received Most Improved Player honors, and Nora Conlon was given the Coaches Award.
The East Hampton boys basketball team went 7-12 overall. Jack Dickinson was named All-Conference, Liam Fowkes was All-League and Ben Zazula was All-Academic.
The East Hampton/Pierson/Bridgehampton boys and girls indoor track teams each had a pair of student-athletes earn accolades this past winter. Dylan Cashin was All-League in the 3,000-meter race, and Ryleigh O’Donnell was All-League in the 1,500-meter race.
O’Donnell was also named the team MVP, Briana Chavez was named Most Improved, and Melina Sarlo was given the Coaches Award.
Cashin, O’Donnell, Sarlo and Riley Miles also set a new school record (13:41.92) in the distance medley relay. P.J. Ramundo earned All-League honors in the boys 3,200-meter race, and Brayan Rivera was All-League in the 1,600-meter race.
Caleb Peralta placed second at the League V Championships at 126 pounds to become an All-League wrestler. He was also named the team’s MOW, or Most Outstanding Wrestler.
J.P. Amaden had the most votes to earn the team’s Tuff Bub Award. After each match and tournament this past season, the team voted on the toughest “Bub,” and whoever had the most votes over the season was given the award. Richard Perez was given the Coaches Award.
East Hampton’s boys swimming, girls basketball and wrestling teams earned Scholar-Athlete honors. To earn the recognition, 75 percent of each team was required to hold a GPA above 90.
