Whether you identify as a victim, survivor, or as someone working through the trauma of sexual abuse, know that you are not alone, you are not to blame for what happened, and support is available to help you on your journey to healing, as noted by the Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network.

Every individual is unique; if working with a particular therapist or peer-support group doesn’t seem to be helping, don’t be discouraged. It may simply be that that particular resource is not a good fit for you. Reach out and explore other supports.
