For Bonac Softball The East Hampton softball team (1-5 overall) won its first game of the season in dramatic fashion on Friday at home. After Lydia Rowan’s triple in the bottom of the seventh scored the tying run, Alexa Schaffer won it with a three-run home run that capped the 13-10 come-from-behind victory for the Bonackers. Schaffer went 2 for 4 with three runs scored and four RBIs. Colleen McKee went 4 for 5 with a run scored and Isabel Briand went 2 for 4 and struck out four in the circle. Bonac Girls Track

East Hampton Little League's 10U Softball All-Stars' Run Ends in Section 4 Tournament

The East Hampton Little League 10-and-under softball team’s run ended last week in the Section 4 Tournament. After getting off to a great start, defeating Sayville, 6-5, on July 8 at Stotzky Park in Riverhead, East Hampton lost the very next day, 14-1, to eventual sectional champion Bethpage in Islip. The 10U All-Stars then lost a close 5-4 game to the same Sayville team that it had defeated just days prior, but this time on Sayville’s home field on July 10, ending their run in the double-elimination tournament.
