Sally M. Krajicek of Montauk died at Stony Brook University Medical Center on Sunday, May 29, after a short illness. She was 89.

She was born on December 10, 1921, in Astoria, Queens, to John and Sadie Morrissey, and graduated from Julia Richmond High School in Manhattan.

In Montauk, Ms. Krajicek worked in real estate and played in a ladies poker group that played for nickels, dimes, and pennies, up until a year ago. She also liked to garden, and in the 1980s, she helped maintain Kirk Park in Montauk as a member of a beautification committee.

She was described by family as a sweet woman whom everyone loved.

Ms. Krajicek and her husband, Walter A. Krajicek, would have celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on June 30.

In addition to her husband, she is survived her children, Kathleen Koonmen of Westhampton Beach and James Krajicek of Bayside, Queens; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, May 31, at Yardley & Pino Funeral Home in East Hampton. A funeral Mass was held Wednesday, June 1, at St. Therese of Lisieux Church in Montauk; the Reverend Michael Rieder officiated.

Dance Event Will Benefit The Retreat
