To conclude a unit on wildlife, Kara Romeo’s pre-kindergarten class at the Sag Harbor Learning Center took a trip to the South Fork Natural History Museum and Nature Center. The students learned about butterfly lifecycles and the process of metamorphosis. From larva, or caterpillar, to pupa, to adult, the students raised the butterflies in their classroom and released them into the wild. During their trip to the South Fork Natural History Museum and Nature Center, the students learned about aquatic wildlife local to the east end. The students heard from on-site staff about several aquatic species and even got to experience the touch tank. COURTESY SAG HARBOR SCHOOL DISTRICT
