Fourth-graders at Sag Harbor Elementary School recently experienced what life was like in early America by studying artifacts from the past. Connor Flanagan, assistant education director of the Southampton Historical Society, visited the school to assist in the exploration of reading artifacts from history. New York State Senator Anthony Palumbo and Assemblyman Fred Thiele paid tribute to Class of 2022 valedictorians and salutatorians from six East End schools during a ceremony at Hampton Bays High School on June 6. The top-ranking seniors were presented with proclamations for their hard work and dedication. They represented the Bridgehampton, East Hampton, Hampton Bays, Sag Harbor, Shoreham-Wading River and Westhampton Beach school districts.
The Springs School NYS Mentoring program enjoyed a culminating event on The Luna last week. Each year staff volunteer to meet with a student one-on-one once a week. Each year for the last three years, the school ends the mentoring program with a special sailing trip.
