The unofficial start to the East End road racing season began on Saturday morning with the eighth annual Katy’s Courage 5K in Sag Harbor. Approximately 650 runners enjoyed sunny skies with relatively strong gusts that made for a bit of a chilly race.East Hampton High School junior Ryan Fowkes, a key runner on both the school’s cross country and track teams, won the 3.1-mile race in 16:48.37, finishing with a mile pace of 5:24.
