The Express News Group hosted a debate Friday, June 3, between the candidates for East Hampton Village Board: Arthur “Tiger” Graham, Sarah Amaden and Carrie Doyle.
The East Hampton Town Board resolved to establish a Tick Advisory Committee when it met last Thursday, November 7. Lyme disease is the most widespread vector-borne disease in the United States, with the federal Center for Disease Control and Prevention estimating around 450,000 diagnoses every year, according to the resolution. Another of the committee’s recommendations is to remove the provision that only those whose residence in the town is their primary legal residence can build attached or detached accessory dwelling units, or ADUs. With an ongoing crisis in the availability of affordable housing, the Town Board has been trying to encourage construction ...

The East Hampton Town Board will move on an effort to reduce the speed limit from 30 to 25 mph on select roadways in Wainscott, East Hampton and Amagansett by way of State Department of Transportation approval. But the process will be slow, and any successful reductions will be accomplished in phases, Supervisor Kathee Burke-Gonzalez said at the board’s work session on Tuesday. The discussion followed one held two months earlier, which itself followed many residents’ requests for speed limit reduction. Rampant use of secondary roads by virtue of smartphone apps and an increased population since the COVID-19 pandemic are ...
