The 24 Hour Plays are an enduring New York City institution with licensed affiliates and partners that produce The 24 Hour Plays and Musicals in theaters and schools worldwide, impacting everyone from celebrities to students and strengthening creative communities worldwide. Since 1995, the group has brought theater to high schools, colleges, and community groups to share the magic of the production process. A newly minted “company” assembles for the first time with the mission of writing, rehearsing and performing an original new play in just 24 hours from start to finish. The Rams Head Inn has partnered with The 24 Hour Plays to bring this theatrical phenomenon to Shelter Island.
