In the late 1960's, a young songwriter names Kris Kristofferson burst onto the Nashville scene. He was like nobody else in the world of country music- a former U.S. Army captian, Rhodes scholar, and Golden gloves boxer- and he wrote songs like nobody else before or since. He spent the next half-century as an iconic singer/songwriter, and also has a Hollywood star. Headlining films such as Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid, Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore, A Star is Born, Heaven's Gate, and Lone Star. For many fans, he was simply the greatest songwriter in the history of country music. Join us and Tennessee Walt for this lecture and concert program.
