Guild Hall's Popular Stirring the Pot Culinary Series Returns with Daniel Humm

Description:

Guild Hall (158 Main Street, East Hampton) has announced the return of their popular series of culinary conversations, Stirring the Pot, hosted by New York Times food and wine writer Florence Fabricant. The series, now in its 14th year and after two years offsite, will return to the newly renovated theater for a series of four insightful and entertaining talks including Chef Daniel Humm of Eleven Madison Park, Emmy award-winning TV personality and New York Times best-selling author and founder of Giadzy, Giada De Laurentiis, Pam Weekes and Connie McDonald of Levain Bakery, and chef, TV personality, philanthropist, and newly inducted member of Guild Hall’s Academy of the Arts, Marcus Samuelsson.

The series will begin on Sunday, July 28 at 11 AM with the award-winning chef and owner of Make It Nice and the highly acclaimed Eleven Madison Park, Daniel Humm. Chef Humm’s appearance is a repeat for Guild Hall, first when his EMP Summer House pop-up was in East Hampton. He has now become a resident of Montauk. His Manhattan menu has notably shifted to be plant-based, and the topic of conversation will be discussing the change, why it happened, and what it has taken to achieve, with great advice for those in the audience who plan more vegan cooking and dining. He may be persuaded to talk about his new restaurant, and Clementine, his new upstairs bar.

Chef and restaurateur Giada De Laurentiis, an Emmy award-winning TV personality, New York Times best-selling author, and founder of Giadzy, will take the stage on August 4. Giada will discuss her career, specifically Giazdy, her line of Italian products just coming to market, and she will speak about her restaurant Giada, which has locations in Las Vegas and Scottsdale. All attendees will receive a special code to redeem a free box of pasta on Giadzy.com.

The third installation will feature Pam Weekes and Connie McDonald of Levain Bakery on Sunday, August 18. The accomplished bakers have made bread for some of NYC’s favorite restaurants before eventually opening a small bakery, which has become a chain with an outlet in Wainscott. They are known for their famous industrial-strength 6-ounce cookies, and those attending this event will receive a sampling.

The series finale will present chef, TV personality, philanthropist, and newly inducted member of Guild Hall’s Academy of the Arts, Marcus Samuelsson on Sunday, August 25. Samuelsson’s restaurant portfolio is global, with the latest Metropolis, which was designed by Amagansett resident David Rockwell, founder and president The Rockwell Group, at the new Perelam Arts Center, supported by and named for East Hampton resident Ronald O. Perelman. David Rockwell will join the conversation as a special bonus guest.

“The prospect of returning to Guild Hall, now beautifully renovated, is a thrilling milestone for this series. I look forward to welcoming an audience of repeat followers and newcomers,” shares host Florence Fabricant.

Stirring the Pot will include a complimentary breakfast provided by Citarella, which will be served at 10 AM.
