Come and taste submissions to the Friends of the Montauk Library's Irish Soda Bread Bakeoff. For a donation of $5 you can have bread slathered with butter and jam with a cup of nonalcoholic Irish coffee or hot chocolate. Kids 6 and under can have a sample for free.
To enter your own soda bread, register by emailing foml@montauklibrary.org and bring two loaves to the library by 10:30 a.m. the day of the tasting. The winner earns $100 and local renown.
