Join LongHouse Reserve for a conversation about 'The House That Jack Built' with
Architect Lee Skolnick and LongHouse Director Carrie Rebora Barratt on Sunday, June 5, 2022 from 2 – 4 pm.
Telling stories and enriching the lives of our communities is the hallmark of SKOLNICK, an award-winning studio of architects, designers, educators, project managers, and writers. Lee Skolnick had been working with LongHouse Reserve Founder Jack Lenor Larsen for well over a decade, planning ahead for Jack’s intention to open his house to the public after he passed. The home fulfills LongHouse’s mission of living with art in all of its forms. Lee will talk about his conversations with Jack and the current project to study and explore the house and collections. The SKOLNICK practice–designing spaces to gather, explore, work, play, learn, and heal–aligns with the LongHouse offering. Guests will have a chance to ask their unanswered questions about what happens next at LongHouse.
Conversations with artists and thinkers have a long history at LongHouse—Jack was one of the great conversationalists—and LongHouse Talks continue this tradition. Over the 2022 season, LongHouse offers series of conversations with artists, architects, designers, dancers, musicians, gardeners and other thought partners in living with art in all of its forms.
