For over 25 years, Room to Grow has promoted equity and opportunity by providing families in low-income circumstances with personalized guidance, community connections, and essential material resources from the third trimester of pregnancy to their children’s third birthday. This evidence-informed approach supports the caretaking journey during children’s most critical years of growth so that they can thrive from the start. Room to Grow’s holistic three-year program serves over a thousand families annually across New York and Boston.
WHAT: Room to Grow is hosting a Fill-A-Truck donation event in Sag Harbor, NY, where residents can bring donations of new or gently used baby and toddler items, to help fill resource gaps for more families in the New York region. On Friday, July 19, the organization will collect urgently needed items, such as toys for ages 0 to 3, board books, and toddler clothing. Please see the full donation checklist to see what Room to Grow can accept. Donors are asked to review the checklist in advance to ensure donation quality standards are met.
This Fill-A-Truck will be a fun event for the whole family, with games and treats for children. It is also the perfect opportunity to plan some summer cleaning and donate baby and toddler items your family has outgrown. Upcycling items not only reduces waste, but also helps Room to Grow support the over 600 families we partner with in the New York area, as we depend on donations from the community and corporate partners for nearly 95% of these items.
No baby items at home or unable to attend the event? You can still support Room to Grow by purchasing new items for Room to Grow families from our high-needs wishlist here!
** Event will occur rain or shine**
