South Fork Bakery will host “Ready, Set, Launch!,” a benefit event to support Launch, its training and placement program, on Saturday May 3, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Parrish Art Museum in Water Mill,
“Ready, Set, Launch!” will feature live music from East End band, The Cherry Bombs, food from Loaves & Fishes and Sen, drinks from Kidd Squid, Montaukila and Wölffer Estates Vineyard, plus activities from The Shine Studio and flowers from the Bridgehampton Florist.
Since its inception in 2022, Launch has placed neurodivergent adults with disabilities into mainstream businesses in the community through employment training, job coaching, and placement advocacy.
“Working in their home community in integrated settings gives individuals the chance to develop new relationships, increases feelings of independence — personal and financial — and can help boost self-esteem and confidence,” said Kristin Burke, the bakery’s program director. “It truly enhances quality of life for both individuals and the entire community.”
Tickets are $250; family sponsorships are available. For more information and to purchase tickets, visit southforkbakery.org.
