National Teacher Appreciation Day is officially the first Tuesday in May, but The Green Room Bar at Sag Harbor Cinema is giving local teachers a head start on being appreciated.

On Friday April 28, under the theme that “teachers are out of this world,” the cinema’s bar manager Deborah Lee will be opening the door to the rooftop bar at 2:30 p.m. for teachers only (the bar is open to the public seven days a week beginning at 5 p.m.).

All teachers are invited to The Green Room starting at 2:30 p.m. on April 28 for complimentary drinks on arrival and light bites. The teacher appreciation event will also include music by Sag Harbor resident Job Potter and is sponsored in part by Sen, 818 Tequila, June Shine, Granja Nomada Mezcal and Opici wine.

Anyone wishing to participate in thanking local teachers will be able to purchase a gift card in any denomination which will be put toward the event. Just drop by The Green Room Bar after 5 p.m. any day before April 28. Sag Harbor Cinema is at 90 Main Street in Sag Harbor.
