Celebration of the Harvest
RGNY Vineyard in Riverhead is stretching its roots into the North Fork with a Harvest Series, a celebration in three parts highlighting the importance of the vine cycle — from the selection of the grapes to the celebrations of the fruit ripe from an entire year’s effort.
The series begins with Dinner in the Vines from 7 to 10 p.m. on Saturday, August 3, in the RGNY Vineyard. Kick off harvest season by indulging in a true RGNY wine paired culinary experience by world renowned Chef François Payard under a late summer’s starlight. Payard has brought his culinary expertise and sophistication to the North Fork at Southold Social by François Payard and Southold General. These new concepts explore and celebrate exceptional farm to table dining.
The second event in the series is RGNY’s Annual Stomp Party on Sunday, September 8, a day of fun, food, Latin heritage and grape stomping. Every ticket includes a picnic lunch catered by Lombardi's Love Lane Market, two glasses RGNY wine, Dos Ositos Paletas, tractor rides, self-guided bicycles tours by Dan's Bike Rental, and barrels full of grapes for stomping alongside live music featuring Mambo Loco.
The final event will be Help Us Harvest on Sunday, October 6, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., an interactive experience where participants learn the ins and outs of the harvest while also learning how to clip grapes in the vineyard and sort them in RGNY winery.
RGNY celebrates five years with #VinodeRG, ingeniously harnessing the dual meaning of "vino" in Spanish, translating into both “wine” and “came from.” This mantra symbolizes the seeds of RG that originated in Mexico and now flourish in New York while ushering forth the RG family’s traditions and their joy for agriculture. Vino is the gateway, RG is the voyage.

Union Square Events Partners with Canoe Place
Union Square Events (USE), a Danny Meyer concept, is expanding its footprint to the East End for the first time by partnering with Canoe Place Inn & Cottages. This Hampton Bays boutique inn will welcome USE as its food and beverage partner starting this month. Along with managing Good Ground Tavern, USE will also handle in-room dining services, catering and events.
Canoe Place, situated at 239 East Montauk Highway in Hampton Bays, boasts a rich history dating back to the 17th century. Good Ground Tavern, specializing in seasonal American cuisine, is committed to sustainability and farm-to-table dining. The menu, inspired by Mediterranean flavors and centered around open fire cooking, showcases artisanal dishes made from locally sourced ingredients, including fresh seafood from nearby waters and produce from local farms. The restaurant offers indoor dining spaces from intimate dinners to group gatherings, while a covered terrace set in a lush garden provides an idyllic setting for al fresco dining. A hidden private study behind the tavern, reminiscent of a speakeasy, offers an intimate cocktail experience.
In addition to Good Ground Tavern, USE will manage in-room dining services, ensuring guests can savor gourmet meals in the comfort of their rooms. USE will also oversee event catering at Canoe Place, offering bespoke services for weddings, corporate events, and special occasions.
“Union Square Events is honored to extend enlightened hospitality to this treasured property and to become a part of its renowned story. It is a true privilege to be able to work alongside Canoe Place’s owners, Gregg and Mitchell Rechler of Rechler Equity Partners, and Main Street Hospitality Group, sharing in their passion for world-class dining and guest experience,” said Tony Mastellone, president of Union Square Events.
At the helm of this partnership are Nickolas Martinez, vice president of Culinary Operations, and Eric Rodriguez, vice president of Operations at Union Square Events.
“We are thrilled to draw from our rich heritage to ensure that every guest feels welcomed and cared for while dining with us, or celebrating a special occasion,” said Mastellone. “We aim to create memorable experiences and build on the existing foundation to continue to build a sense of community.”
