Do you want to let someone else do the cooking this Christmas and New Year’s? Several East End restaurants are offering special menus and celebratory affairs for the holidays. Here are some of them.
Sag Harbor
Sen Restaurant (23 Main Street, 631-725-1774, senrestaurant.com) will host “Sushi and Santa at Sen” from 4 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, December 19. Bring the kids and join an afternoon of festive fun to create unforgettable holiday memories. For $20, each child will receive a bento box with delicious food and a gift from Santa.
Baron’s Cove (31 West Water Street, 844-227-6672, caperesorts.com/barons-cove) will serve a Christmas Day prix fixe dinner on Wednesday, December 25, from 3 to 9 p.m. The cost is $125 per person. Also available Tuesday, December 24, through Sunday, December 29, is dinner by the fire. Baron’s Cove will also host a New Year’s Eve party on Tuesday, December 31, accented by live music, dining and lively atmosphere all the way to midnight. The restaurant will host a choice of two New Year’s Eve seatings — 6 p.m. ($125) and 9 p.m. ($175) with live music, party favors and midnight champagne toast to ring in 2025.
Lulu Kitchen and Bar (126 Main Street, 631-725-0900, lulusagharbor.com) is offering several Christmas and New Year’s Eve take out menus to celebrate the holidays at home without all the cooking. From full dinner menus to platters, canapes and a la carte items, Lulu has the holidays. The pastry team will be preparing traditional house-made Bûche de Noël cakes for the holiday. The chocolate sponge cake layered with dark chocolate mousse, brandied cherry and white chocolate mousse comes in two sizes: $70 for 2 to 4 people and $130 for 6 to 10 people. Quantities are limited. Orders must be placed at least 48 hours before Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve. Pick up by 3:30 p.m. on Christmas Eve. Holiday orders over $400 will receive a complimentary $50 gift card to use during a future visit to Lulu.
East Hampton
1770 House Restaurant & Inn (143 Main Street, 631-324-1770, 1770house.com) will offer a New Year’s Eve celebration menu. From 5:30 to 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday, December 31, Chef Michael Rozzi presents a wide assortment of dishes in a three-course menu including appetizer, entrée and dessert at $125 per person (plus tax, gratuity and beverage). The menus may be enjoyed with selections from the 250-bottle Wine Spectator award-winning list overseen by wine director Michael Cohen. Champagne and sparkling wines from France, Italy, Spain, California and New Mexico include two selections by the glass ($16 to $24); four selections by the half-bottle (375 ml.) ($50 to $275); and nine selections by the bottle (750 ml.) ($65 to $550).
The 1770 House will be open on New Year’s Day serving Chef Rozzi’s $65 two-course menu upstairs and downstairs; along with an a la carte menu in the Tavern. All menus are on 1770house.com.
New Year’s Day will also be the last chance for photos in the parlor with The 1770 House’s spectacularly decorated Christmas tree and holiday decorations. The 1770 House will be closed for dinner on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
Nick & Toni’s (136 North Main Street. 631-324-3550, nickandtonis.com) will be open on Tuesday, December 24, and will offer a special prix fixe menu from 5 to 9 p.m. in celebration of Christmas Eve. The three-course menu will cost $145 per person, plus tax and gratuity. A special “Bambini Menu” will also be available for children 10 and under for $50 per child. Reservations are recommended and can be made by visiting nickandtonis.com or calling 631-324-3550. Nick & Toni’s is at 136 North Main Street in East Hampton.
Amagansett
Rowdy Hall (177 Main Street, 631-324-8555, rowdyhall.com) will serve lunch from noon to 3 p.m. on Christmas Eve, December 24. The regular menu is available along with specials including a lobster Benedict and an olive oil cake. The restaurant will be closed for dinner on Christmas Eve.
Rowdy Hall is also celebrating Hanukkah from Thursday, December 26, through Friday, December 29 with a la carte specials beginning at 5 p.m. The regular a la carte menu will also be available. The specials include potato latkes, red wine braised beef brisket and olive oil cake. On New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day, lunch and dinner will be available and in addition to the regular menu, specials include pumpkin lobster bisque, surf & turf and vanilla bean custard.
Hampton Bays
R.AIRE at The Hampton Maid (259 East Montauk Highway, 631-728-4166, hamptonmaid.com/raire) will celebrate New Year’s Eve on Tuesday, December 31, with a three-course menu, an amuse bouche and champagne toast. Seating is available from 6 to 10 p.m., with live music by The Barroom Girls from 7 to 10 p.m. Dinner menu is $150 per person. Reservations can be made online or by phone.
Canoe Place Inn Tavern (239 East Montauk Highway, 631-763-6300, canoeplace.com) celebrates Christmas Eve with dinner on Tuesday, December 24, and a menu of seasonal favorites and holiday classics as well as live music. Dinner is $115 and will be served from 5 to 8:30 p.m.
In addition, on Tuesday, December 31, from 5 to 8:30 p.m., the Tavern will serve a multi-course New Year’s Eve dinner, champagne and specialty cocktails, accompanied by lively festive music. The cost is $115.
Bridgehampton
Almond Restaurant (1 Ocean Road, 631-537-5665, almondrestaurant.com) will serve its 24th annual Christmas Eve traditional suckling pig roast with seasonal accompaniments on Tuesday, December 24, from 5 to 9 p.m. The cost is $49 and the regular a la carte menu will also be available. A portion of the revenue from Christmas Eve dinners will be donated to OLA (Organización Latino Americana) of Eastern Long Island, a nonprofit Latino-focused advocacy organization working on the East End. Almond will be closed on Christmas Day.
On Tuesday, December 31, Almond will host a New Year’s Eve party beginning at 9 p.m. with champagne toasts, a super deluxe locally sourced five course menu and dancing. Earlier in the evening, Almond will be running the a la carte menu and some great specials. Or just drop in for snacks at the bar along with some amazing specialty cocktails.
L&W Market (2493 Montauk Highway, 631-537-1123, landwmarket.com) observes Hanukkah 5785 by offering its famous latkes, brisket and more to go. Preorder “Hanukkah to Go” by 6 p.m. on Monday, December 23, for pick-up on Friday, December 27, from 2 to 3 p.m. or Saturday, December 28, from 2 to 3 p.m. As usual L&W will have latkes, jelly donuts and other goodies at the market all week.
Art of Eating (264 Butter Lane, 631-267-2411, hamptonsartofeating.com) celebrates the season with its iconic holiday catering to go menu, which is now available for preorders. Holiday orders must be placed by Friday, December 20, for pick up on Tuesday, December 24, and orders for New Year’s Eve must be placed by Saturday, December 28, for pick-up on Tuesday, December 31.
Bridgehampton Inn (2266 Montauk Highway, 631-566-1388, loavesandfishes.us) will be open for the holidays on Monday and Tuesday, December 23 and 24. The inn is also offering a two-course $50 prix fixe menu on Wednesdays and Thursdays, as well as a 20 percent discount on its wine list and select beverages on those days. Additionally, there is no corkage fee on Sundays
Water Mill
Calissa (1020 Montauk Highway, 631-500-9292, calissahamptons.com) will offer a New Year’s Eve prix-fixe option dinner on Tuesday, January 31, with mezze for the table featuring butternut squash hummus, Mediterranean olives and beet hummus followed by a selection of appetizers, entrees and desserts. The cost is $95 per person. A children’s menu is also available. For an elevated touch, Champagne selections include Veuve Clicquot Brut or Veuve Clicquot Rosé by the glass and bottle. A beverage package is also available for $95 per person from 9 p.m. to midnight, including standard spirits, sommelier-selected wines, and beer. DJ Hugo will begin spinning at 9:30 p.m. and the party will conclude at 2 a.m. Reservations are available via OpenTable.
Montauk
The Bird (47 South Elmwood Avenue, 631-668-5833, birdontheroof.com) is hosting a new whimsical and immersive holiday pop-up on weekends during December. An entirely new menu concept by Chef Jake is available and based around Japanese ingredients. It features intricate, elegant and playfully crafted dishes including fluke crudo, orange chicken karaage, Akaushi wagyu Sandwiches, vegetarian take nabe served with shiitake mushroom, crispy rice and a poached egg. Seasonal Christmas cocktails and spirits are also being served in ornamental glassware. In addition, The Bird presents a dinner theater experience with Tim Markman, guest experiential wizard and actor, who premieres his short play, “Miracle in Montauk,” on December 20, 21, 27 and 28.
