As with any marginally available food item, sour cherries have acquired a cult following. One must arrive at Water Mill’s Green Thumb Organic Farm—one of the few farm stands selling the fresh berries when they do arrive—early in the summer morning to head off competitors. Sour cherries are gone in a whisper, so get them while you can. Call beforehand for information on pricing and availability.
