PSEG has launched a new online map to allow customers to find and report power outages.

The new map makes it easier to locate outages by location, town or village and provides the number of customers in the selected service area, the number affected by an outage, and the estimated restoration time. Customers will also be able to learn the type of crew assigned to fix an outage as well as its source, if that information is available.

During severe storms, PSEG can update the map with icons that show the locations of shelters, command centers, and resources such as ice and water.

A new feature is a “One-click Text OUT” button, for customers who visit the map from a mobile device and who have registered for “My Alerts.” With one click, customers can send a text message through a default application to report a power outage.

The new map can be found online at psegliny.com/stormcenter, or directly by visiting outagemap.psegliny.com.
