BRUNCH ON BUTTER

Art of Eating food truck is a perfect neighbor for new coffee outpost.

Those lucky enough to find the Art of Eating food truck open when they stop by for a Dreamy coffee might find one of the East End’s best cinnamon rolls being served in the parking lot below, along with a menu full of other tasty and creative dishes, at what is currently being described as a pop-up offering, depending on how busy one of the region’s top catering companies is on any given weekend.

The husband-and-wife team of John Kowalenko and Cheryl Stair have been treating customers to their inventive cuisine and extravagant weddings and events for more than 30 years. But the food truck is new to the business and, for the moment, operating on-site only at their home location on Butter Lane.

The “Brunch on Butter” menu for Memorial Day weekend included a breakfast burrito with cheddar and Monterey Jack cheese, Balsam Farm black beans, avocado, organic eggs and tomatillo sauce; classic chilaquiles; a Mayan bowl with Green Thumb lettuce, Balsam sweet potato, beans, red onion, avocado and sweet and hot rice vinaigrette; and a quesadilla with Oaxaca cheese, roasted poblano peppers and squash blossoms.

Stair’s famous summer rolls were offered three ways: Caesar salad with fresh shrimp, crunchy vegetables with avocado, cilantro and mint, and black pepper tofu with jicama, cucumber, microgreens and crunchy lettuce.

Along with their unforgettable cinnamon rolls, and freshly made churros, this is one pop-up to keep an eye out for. Stay tuned on Instagram @hamptonsartofeating for days and hours of operation.
