n an effort to attract more summer rentals for the upcoming season, The Corcoran Group will host its first-ever “East End Rental Expo” in Manhattan on Thursday, March 19, from 5 to 8 p.m.

The event—which will showcase 144 exclusive Corcoran-represented properties and will feature more than 14,000 homes available as summer rentals located in the Hamptons, Shelter Island and on the North Fork—will be held on the 12th floor at the 660 Madison Avenue Corcoran office and will be open to all.

According to Regional Vice President Rick Hoffman, the expo is one way that Corcoran is trying to be proactive in a tough economy. “The rental market is a little slower this year ... So instead of prospective renters coming out here, we decided to initiate their interest by bringing the Hamptons to them,” he said, adding that he expected a large crowd of attendees.

The expo is expected to draw approximately 30 East End Corcoran agents who will work together with Manhattan- and Brooklyn-based Corcoran agents to showcase photos and listing information about available rentals.

Confirmed agents from all eight East End Corcoran offices will be on site including: Joan and Ray Hegner from Montauk; Arlene Reckson and Erin Keneally from Amagansett; Meg Salem, Tom Fitzmaurice, Anita Kelmpner, Gary and Charlotte DePersia, and Patty Wadzinski from East Hampton; Marc Heskell, Marlene O’Halloran, Jane Babcook and Maureen Geary from Sag Harbor; Evan Kulman and Gene Stilwell, Drew Green, Debbie Brenneman, Susan and Matt Breitenbach, Jason Schommer, Mark Greenwald and Cathy Tweedy from Bridgehampton; Pat Garrity, Marcella O’Callaghan, Jennifer Mahoney, Meegan Darby, Joy Ganns and Rik Kristianson, Emily Demone, and Cristina Matos and Elise Douglas from Southampton; Meredith and Bob Murray and Judith King from Westhampton Beach; Peter McCracken from Shelter Island; and Nancy Cervelli, Sherry Clarry and Patty Gleason from the North Fork office.

Representatives from Sagaponack-based Wölffer Vineyards will also be on hand to offer a sampling of local wines to attendees. Lucy’s Whey from East Hampton will offer a complimentary cheese tasting to guests as well.
