Deep Hollow Ranch, Mickey Drexler’s 24.7-acre Montauk horse farm, sold for $8.2 million last month.
The equestrian facility bills itself as the oldest cattle ranch in the United States and includes an 18-acre conservation easement,
Mr. Drexler is a former J.Crew and Gap CEO and is currently the chairman of Outdoor Voices, an athletic apparel company. He previously tried to sell Deep Hollow Ranch as a package with Eothen, formerly the estate of Andy Warhol, for $85 million. But in 2015, art collector and gallerist Adam Lindemann picked up Eothen at 16 Cliff Drive for $48.7 million, without the ranch.
Chris Coleman of Compass was the listing agent for 8 Old Montauk Highway, and the deal closed July 24. The property had been asking $9.9 million back in 2018.
The new owner is art dealer Max Levai, 32, who was one of Forbes’ 30 Under 30 when he was 25. He is the son of Pierre Levai, who had been the director of the Marlborough Gallery, which closed in June. Max Levai was the president of the gallery, which had spaces in Chelsea and Midtown, according to ARTnews.
Max Levai recently worked with Tripoli Patterson, Bob Rubin and Bean.la to launch The Alone Gallery, a 8-week pop-up gallery in Wainscott designed to be viewed in isolation.
