For the last 26 years, the East Hampton Chamber of Commerce has been kicking off the Christmas season by letting residents tour some of the historic inns, bed-and-breakfasts, and other spots that make East Hampton stand out. This year, the chamber is putting a special bow on top of its annual present to the community by making its annual holiday tour free for the public.

While it would normally cost $25 per person to use a provided map to tour these locations, the chamber’s new executive director, Steve Ringel, said he hopes that this change will succeed in welcoming people to East Hampton and promoting local attractions.

“This is really a way to show how open the community is,” Mr. Ringel said. “We’re trying to make an effort for the business community to see that the chamber is really trying to support local business and create an atmosphere for the variety that we have to offer.”

The tour, which will take place on Saturday, December 10, and involve refreshments, will allow residents and visitors to visit popular locations around East Hampton. The historic Baker House 1650 and the 1770 House will be open for visitors to experience, and the Pollock-Krasner House and Study Center in Springs will offer special tours. The likes of Guild Hall, the East Hampton Library and the Clinton Academy will also be open, along with the popular shopping district of East Hampton offering special deals and sales for those looking for quirky holiday gifts.

Those who’d like to take the tour can stop at the Huntting Inn on Main Street, where representatives of the chamber will provide them with a map of the area that will guide them to the festive locations in East Hampton, Springs, Amagansett and Bridgehampton. The tour will run from noon to 4 p.m.

“I’ve been getting calls from people in Manhattan that want to come out,” Mr. Ringel said. “It’s a great way to have an adventure and really get a taste of all the different sides of East Hampton.”

Those looking for more information about the holiday tour can contact the chamber at 631-324-0362 or by emailing info@easthamptonchamber.com.
