A modern residence with ocean views in Montauk, built in 1997 on a secluded 1.1-acre lot surrounded by trees, has sold for $5 million.

The 6,623-square-foot home has four bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms, but the listing notes that bonus rooms could be converted, resulting in an eight-bedroom house. Additional interior spaces include a designer chef’s kitchen, a living room with 20-foot ceilings and a walk-out finished lower level.

The grounds, with grandfathered clearing, feature a heated gunite infinity pool with a waterfall and spa, a large patio, an outdoor kitchen and lush flower beds and other landscaping.

A two-car garage is attached.

Nick Brown, Zack Dayton and Ethan Dayton of Sotheby’s International Realty’s East Hampton office had the listing.

According to Zillow, the last time the property changed hands was in 2003, when the price was just $1.2 million. It has been listed for sale in 2021 and 2022 for $5.75 million. The property had come on and off the market with price cuts since then and found buyers last fall.

The deal closed on November 19, 2024, according to Suffolk Vision Inc., which reported that the seller was Mae Lim and the new owners are Robert Tipp and Victoria Bayard.
