When $35 million worth of real estate changes hands in the same week in a single village, that is worth noting, especially when only three purchases accounted for all that cash.

The biggest sale by far in the Village of Southampton was 210 Meadow Lane, which was bought by Claudine and Glenn Nussdorf for $27.5 million. The Norman Jaffe-designed oceanfront manse on 3 acres has 7 bedrooms and, we’re told, “unmatched views of ocean beaches and breathtaking exterior dunescapes.” Now that we’ve recovered our breath we can go on to say that there are light-filled interiors and the second-floor master suite has views of the sea and surrounding property. Interior details include stone floors and wooden ceilings, new state-of-the-art media room, and sky-lit Euro-professional eat-in-kitchen. The grounds feature a spa and in-ground pool and a sunken all-weather tennis court.

The Nussdorf family founded Quality King in 1961 as a small outpost in Queens selling personal care and beauty products. Sons Glenn and Stephen got in on the family business not long after, and under their leadership Quality King Distributors has swelled into a $3.2 billion operation. The company re-imports and distributes exported U.S.-branded over-the-counter pharmaceuticals, fragrances and health and beauty items to drugstores and supermarkets nationwide.

Another sale reported last week in Southampton Village was 473 Hill Street, to Carol and Myles Tintle for $3,960,000. (Also reported was the Tintles selling their Daniels Lane, Sagaponack, property for $7,650,000.) At the end of a 600-foot private road this rebuilt, handcrafted compound offers three separate structures. The main “cottage” opens to a full-length gallery with fireplace, connecting the living room with exposed wood beams, dining room, library with vaulted ceiling, mud room, and open-plan chef’s kitchen that occupies the entire back of the house. The second floor offers the master suite with sitting room, marble bath, 3 bay windows formed by a large dormer, and fireplace. The lower level offers a bedroom, bathroom with steam shower, media/theater room, gym, infrared sauna, and storage. The guest/pool cottage offers a living room, kitchenette, bathroom, rear family room, full basement with laundry, and storage. The third building is the garage, with oversized 2-car spaces, storage area, bathroom, and second-floor studio. The existing main house was originally built in 1905 and was rebuilt and expanded in 2013.

The third transaction reported was 190 Meeting House Lane, to Erika and James Best for $3,465,000. This custom traditional has a living room with fireplace, marble kitchen, family room 3 bedrooms (the master suite has a fireplace too), hardwood floors, custom moldings, and many other amenities. Outside there is a large bluestone patio overlooking the heated pool and lush landscaping.
