Suffolk County Executive Steve Levy announced last month that he named Christopher Kent, formerly the Suffolk County Director of Real Estate, as Chief Deputy County Executive. The Director of Real Estate position is currently being filled by Assistant Director of Real Estate, Pamela Greene.
Mr. Kent replaces James Morgo, who retired from county service at the end of March.
Mr. Kent, who was once the Deputy Supervisor of the Town of Riverhead, joined the Levy administration in April 2007. Prior to working for Suffolk County, he held a variety of positions in Riverhead including Councilman, Deputy Town Attorney and Deputy Supervisor.
In a recent press release, Mr. Levy gave a vote of confidence for his new chief deputy’s abilities. “Chris Kent has vast experience in the day-to-day operations of local government, municipal law and real estate law, as well as the drive and vision to advance the administration’s aggressive agenda on economic development, environmental protection and public safety,” he wrote.
Mr. Kent his wife, Catherine, live in Baiting Hollow.
