An 8-acre oceanfront estate in Sagaponack with a main residence, a carriage house and a private pond has sold for $19.8 million — about $7 million less than the property fetched six years prior, when it changed hands in tandem with an adjacent reserve.
Built in 1994, the main house is 6,740 square feet and recently refurbished. It includes a master retreat with a fireplace, two full bathrooms with walk-in closets, and a separate spa and shower; an additional five bedrooms and seven bathrooms; multiple entertaining spaces with fireplaces and pond and ocean views; a sauna/spa; a home office; a full-service kitchen; and staff quarters with its own bedroom, bathroom and kitchenette.
Around the oceanside pool, expansive decking affords copious space for entertaining. A rooftop deck takes full advantage of the water views, and a private boardwalk leads to a dune-top lounge area and the beach.
The carriage house has two bedrooms, a full bathroom, a gym and a three-car garage.
The deal closed on December 18, 2020, according to The Real Estate Report Inc. Bespoke Real Estate had the listing.
Back in 2016, the property was seeking $29 million, but a number of price reductions ensued. The last asking price was $22.95 million. It’s also been listed for rent, seeking $1.3 million for a Memorial Day to Labor Day season.
The estate last sold in 2014 for $27 million, coupled with an adjacent 23-acre agricultural reserve for an additional $4 million.
