Sagaponack’s 11962 and Water Mill’s 11976 are the No. 2 and No. 3 most expensive zip codes in the United States, respectively, according to the newly released annual ranking by PropertyShark.

Sagaponack came in with a median sales price of $5.95 million, and Water Mill followed right at its heels, at $5.89 million. The are behind only 94027, the Atherton, California, zip code that has held the top spot for eight years running.

Sagaponack was second in 2023 as well, with a median price of $8.08 million then. Water Mill had been No. 6 on the list, at $4.5 million.

Amagansett’s 11930 is No. 19 on the 2024 list, at $3.74 million, after its median price leaped 53 percent year-over-year. That is the biggest jump of all the zips on the list. PropertyShark attributes this to a limited number of home sales.

Bridgehampton’s 11932 is No. 31, at $3.05 million. Further down the list are Wainscott’s 11975 and Quogue’s 11959, tied for No. 48, at $2.6 million; Sag Harbor’s 11963, No. 68, at $2.23 million; and Montauk’s 11954, No. 86, at $2 million.

The ranking is based on actual sale prices rather than listing prices, which can sometimes be pipe dreams and would skew the data.

PropertyShark also found that Suffolk County is among the most expensive counties in the United States, bolstered by the eight Hamptons zip codes that made the top 100 zips nationally.
