Southampton Property Gives Buyers A Choice

Build or buy? This vacant, waterfront parcel in Southampton was recently reintroduced to the market and is offering buyers two options at very different price points.

Originally listed with Bespoke back in the summer, the 3-acre property is available as a vacant lot for $16.95 million or as a new build at a price that climbed from $27.95 million in June to $32.995 million. The listing was removed in September and changed hands, becoming an exclusive with Douglas Elliman.

Set off Wickapogue Road amid dwindling farmland, the property is located on Fowler Street, with 400 feet of frontage on Jule Pond and within walking distance of the beach. The new house would be custom designed by Blaze Makoid Architecture and built by Jay Bialsky. At 11,000 square feet, it would feature seven bedrooms and 7.5 baths along with floor-to-ceiling glass walls and 35 feet of sliding doors. Amenities would include a home theater, gym, an office and an infinity-edge Gunite pool.

Which one would you do: build or buy?

Hamptons Rental Market Remains Alive and Well

An interesting dynamic is stirring in the Hamptons vacation-rental market. Although there has been an unprecedented rise in short-term rentals and the aftershocks of the COVID-19 pandemic linger, it has been a bumper crop year for Wall Street, interest rates have remained steady and a new breed of demanding customer is emerging. Despite it all, the Hamptons vacation-rental market remains as ... 19 Jun 2025 by Joseph Finora
