An updated 2004 traditional-style shingled residence in Wainscott recently sold for $9 million.
A semi-circular driveway guides visitors to the porte-cochère and stone-arched entrance of the two-story home by D&D Harvey Architects on just under an acre at 73 Sayres Path.
Finishes and luxury features include three rough-hewn stone fireplaces, stone archways, cherry wood cabinetry, and Waterworks bathrooms.
The main level has a gourmet kitchen with top-of-the-line appliances, including two Sub-Zeros. The kitchen opens to a dining and sitting area with a tall ceiling and a sunken living room featuring a grand fireplace, coffered ceilings and French doors leading to a covered terrace. The main level continues with a formal dining room and an office/den with a fireplace.
Upstairs, the second floor offers a master suite with his-and-hers walk-in closets and a fireplace, a second master suite with a double-height ceiling and sitting room, plus two additional en suite guest rooms.
The lower level features a gym, a game room, a media room, staff quarters, a second laundry facility, and a full bathroom.
The manicured grounds are designed by landscape architect Christopher LaGuardia of LaGuardia Design Group in Water Mill, including an expansive lawn, a hedged and gated gunite pool, and rose gardens. The property also includes an attached two-car garage.
James Petrie of the Petrie Team at Compass had the listing. Susan Ryan of The Midlam | Ryan Team at Compass brought the buyer.
Ryan said, “73 Sayres Path exemplifies quality craftsmanship, boasting spacious rooms and beautifully landscaped surroundings that accentuate its well-built allure.”
The deal closed on December 9, according to Suffolk Vision Inc., which reported the sellers were Jill and Thomas McAdam and the buyers were Ann and Weston Hicks.
