A nearly 14-acre estate in Wainscott fronting Georgica Pond has hit the market for $70 million.

At 30 Mathews Road, down a long winding driveway past rolling lawns and mature specimen plantings, is a 10,000-square-foot residence plus a three-car garage, a pool house and a T-shaped heated gunite pool that overlooks the pond.

According to The Wall Street Journal, the estate had belonged to the late billionaire real estate developer Sheldon Solow, who died last fall at age 92. His New York Times obituary credits him with changing the Manhattan skyline with his high-end residential and office towers.

The traditional residence, built in 2010 by the late East Hampton builder Ben Krupinski and designed by Brooklyn-based architect Paul Rice, has a double height foyer that leads to a formal dining room with a fireplace. The adjacent open kitchen has a breakfast area, and a family room has French doors to the screened porch and a long covered porch. The first floor also includes a library with a fireplace, a living room, a sunroom with a full wet bar, and an en-suite staff or guest bedroom.

On the second floor, find five en-suite bedrooms, including the master suite with a walk-in closet, a master bath with double vanity, a soaking tub, a shower, a sitting room with a fireplace and a private balcony.

Down on the finished lower level is an open recreation space, a home theater, a gym with a steam shower, a seventh bedroom and the option to add an eighth bedroom.

In addition to 828 feet of waterfront, the estate offers ocean views. It’s situated on a peninsula on the west side of Georgica Pond and the main house is oriented south for the best views.

The property can be subdivided to yield a second estate with a residence, a pool, a pool house and a tennis court, according to the listing. That would leave 7 acres for the existing estate with 558 feet of water front. The second lot would be 6.9 acres with the ability to clear 45,000 square feet and have 271 feet of pond frontage.

Kyle Rosko, Marcy Braun, Paul Brennan and Martha Gundersen of Douglas Elliman have the listing.
