Overview of Sag Harbor School District Reserve Funds Provided at Latest Board of Education Meeting

Business Administrator Jennifer Buscemi gave a presentation on the school district’s fund balance and its various reserve funds, and the plan for using and funding those reserves over the next year, at the latest Sag Harbor Board of Education meeting on December 16. The news was good, overall, as the district remains in strong financial health and standing, and has retained a high rating from Moody’s of AA1, the second-highest possible rating. Sag Harbor School District Officially Adopts New Latin Honors System, Eliminates Class Rank

The Sag Harbor Board of Education officially adopted a new policy on Monday night for requirements to graduate with distinction, and also eliminated the class rank policy. The district will continue to name a valedictorian and salutatorian for the senior class, but, starting with the class of 2026, will use a Latin honors system in place of class rank.
