SAG HARBOR VILLAGE — Police received a report that there was illegal construction work going on Friday night near the intersection of Henry and Elizabeth streets. The investigating officer found National Grid workers on the scene, who told the officer that they were repairing a gas leak and had almost finished. They soon finished the repair, and no further action was taken. SAG HARBOR VILLAGE — Police received a call Sunday night that there was a shirtless juvenile running on Oakland Avenue. SAG HARBOR VILLAGE — Police responded to a report on the evening of September 25 that there was either a baby or a cat crying in an apartment over a business on Main Street. An officer went to investigate and reported hearing the crying but could not gain access to the building. A few minutes later, police received another call again reporting the crying sound. The officer continued to investigate and this time was able to gain access to the building. The crying had stopped. The officer interviewed the residents of the apartment the crying had come from. SAG HARBOR VILLAGE — On the morning after the conclusion of Harborfest, September 16, it was discovered that a person or persons unknown had defaced the Harborfest whale, which was anchored off Windmill Beach, by painting political slogans, apparently in support of Donald Trump’s presidential bid.
