An officer went to investigate and reported hearing the crying but could not gain access to the building. A few minutes later, police received another call again reporting the crying sound. SAG HARBOR VILLAGE — Police received a report Sunday afternoon of a suspicious man peering in the windows at the elementary school on Hampton Street. An officer went to investigate and walked around the building. The officer located the man in question, who, it turned out, works for a security firm hired by the school. The man told the officer he was checking to make sure that all windows and doors were secure. SAG HARBOR VILLAGE — On Sunday night, an officer spotted a 2019 gray Volvo being driven around the parking lot at Pierson High School at a high rate of speed. The officer attempted to pull the vehicle over, but the driver fled, temporarily eluding the officer. However, according to the report, the officer eventually located the car, now parked in front of a Harding Terrace residence. Though the vehicle was unoccupied, the hood was warm, police said.
