My husband and I traveled with American Cruise Lines last August on a trip to Oregon and Washington, following the trail of Lewis and Clark. Our fellow 140 passengers were educated and interested in all that we saw during our off-boat visits. All meals are taken on the ship; there were one or two lectures a day about what we were going to see, and there was on-board entertainment every night.
If the American Cruise Line ship comes to Sag Harbor in May and October [“American Cruise Lines Says Plans Still Afloat for Sag Harbor Visits, Which Could Start in May,” 27east.com, February 6], this can only be a boon for our local stores and should be welcomed by all. We did have local guides and local entertainment, so this may be an additional opportunity for our community to benefit from these trips.
