A New Road

I wrote a note to the Southampton Town superintendent of highways concerning the condition of the street I live on, stating that I had recently tripped on rough pavement. Within days, a crew came by to patch the road, and as I thanked the crew, they asked, “Was it you that wrote that letter?” I answered yes — and they apologized for neglecting not only my road but adjacent roads as well. I thought this was very respectful and carried on.

A few days ago, the entire road was removed and completely resurfaced, and now the roads are like new.

Thank you to the Southampton Town Highway Department for responding so quickly.
