Accident Closes Water Mill Back Roads

UPDATE: 9:18 a.m.

Southampton Town Police report a woman driving a Toyota sedan headed east on Scuttlehole Road near its intersection with Head of Pond Road ran off the road and into a utility pole, breaking it.

She was taken to the hospital by Bridgehampton Ambulance, with minor injuries, police said. Volunteers from Bridgehampton Fire Department responded as did staff from PSEG. The road will be closed for several hours while the repairs to the pole are underway.

Head Of Pond Road in Water Mill was closed from Scuttlehole Road to Narrow Lane south on Thursday morning. At 8:10 a.m., Southampton Town Police reported the closure, due to a motor vehicle accident.

Najendra Roopnarine, 31, of Schenectedy was arrested by Quogue Village Police on March 3 at 8:05 p.m. and charged with aggravated DWI, a misdemeanor. He was pulled over on Montauk Highway in Quogue after being observed failing to maintain his lane, according to police, who said his blood alcohol content exceeded .18 percent, elevating the charge to the aggravated level. Quogue Police: Hampton Bays Woman Arrested After Stealing Money From Employer

On March 4 at 12:55 p.m., Quogue Village Police arrested Kristin Greene, 44, of Hampton Bays and charged her with third-degree grand larceny, a felony. The arrest was the result of a more than yearlong investigation by the Quogue Village Police Detective Unit that began with an initial report of a theft on January 6, 2024, at a business on Jessup Avenue.
