Aimee Noelle Seabury of Southampton died on August 30 in Los Angeles. She was 37.
Ms. Seabury was born on October 24, 1983 in Southampton to Peter and Jill Seabury. She grew up in Bridgehampton and Southampton, spent many wonderful summers on Mount Desert Island in Maine and graduated from Southampton High School.
She followed her dream of working in fashion and studied fashion and marketing at Berkeley College in Manhattan and Miami International University of Art and Design in Miami, her family said. Later, she transitioned to the medical field, attending Stony Brook University, earning an associate degree in science, followed by certification as a medical technician from the Mandl School in Manhattan. She most recently lived in Sag Harbor and worked as a medical technician at Hampton Medical Care in East Hampton and Hampton Bays, while studying for a degree in psychology.
She was a proud and loving mother to her son, Jalen, her family said. She was an enthusiastic “fashionista,” collecting vintage outfits and following the latest trends, they said, noting that she was also a lifelong lover of animals, raising dogs, cats, horses, canaries, ducks and chickens — she never saw an injured animal she didn’t help. She was an avid gardener, sketch artist, lover of the ocean, music, the East End of Long Island and a dedicated, much loved friend to many.
She is survived by her son Jalen Cooks; her parents Peter Seabury and Jill Younger; Jalen’s father, Bernard Cooks; two half-brothers; her grandmother Jane Seabury; plus many aunts, uncles and cousins.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, October 24, at 2 p.m. at the Bridgehampton Presbyterian Church on Main Street in Bridgehampton.
