DA: Riverhead Man Arrested for Firing Gun Shots Into Hampton Bays Home

A Riverhead man who police say fired five shots into a Hampton Bays home in early July was arrested on August 22 after an extensive investigation by the Southampton Town Police, Riverhead Town Police and Suffolk County district attorney’s office. The man, Lawrence Brown Jr., 26, was indicted this week on felony weapons charges, District Attorney Raymond Tierney’s office announced on Monday. He’s been ordered held on $250,000 bail. According to investigators, Brown drove to the Hampton Bays home of a person with whom he’d had a dispute and fired five shots into the house. The Hampton Bays Library will host LGBTQIA+ Health Matters: Expert Guidance from the Stony Brook Southampton Hospital Edie Windsor Healthcare Center on Wednesday, September 18, at 6 p.m. The Edie Windsor Healthcare Center is dedicated to comprehensive care and support for the LGBTQIA+ community. The Hampton Library will celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with a live music event at the Bridgehampton Community House on Friday, September 20, from 7 to 9:30 p.m. The featured band is Mambo X. Registration Open for 'Teen Views' Program

Registration is open for the Southampton Youth Bureau’s “Teen Views on the News” program, an opportunity for young people to gain hands-on media experience while earning community service credits. In the program, participants will build skills in interviewing, crafting credible stories, and producing content for television and other media platforms.
